Who we are
DC:Plane is an independent app made by Rushabh, based in Mumbai, India (“we”, “us”). If you have a question about this policy or your data, email rushi.movi@gmail.com.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you put into DC:Plane is saved in the app’s private storage on your phone. We do not run a server for the app and nothing is uploaded to us. That includes:
- Your first name (optional), routines, daily tasks and which checks you ticked.
- Your weekly planes, hangar, streaks and the day-by-day record used to build them.
- Focus sessions: their length, the time they ran and the label you typed (“what you were working on”).
- Pledges and your wallpaper style.
- Settings such as theme, accent colour, sound, reminder times and the install threshold.
Backups. Settings → Backup lets you copy all of this as text and paste it back later. That text goes wherever you choose to put it (your notes, a message to yourself); we never see it.
Operating-system backups. If you have Android or iCloud device backup switched on, your phone may include the app’s storage in that backup, under your account with Google or Apple and their privacy terms. We have no access to it.
Permissions the app asks for
- Notifications
- For the reminders you switch on (pre-flight, debrief, Friday rollout, Sunday plan) and for the focus timer. Only scheduled on your phone.
- Foreground service (Android)
- Keeps the focus countdown running in the status bar, notification shade and lock screen while a session is in progress. It stops as soon as the session ends.
- Wallpaper
- Only when you tap “Set as lock screen” or “Set as home screen” in Pledges.
- Photos / storage
- Only when you pick a photo for a pledge wallpaper or tap “Save to Photos”. A photo you pick is used to draw the wallpaper on the phone and is not kept or uploaded.
- Vibration
- Light haptic taps when you tick checks and when parts are installed.
All sounds are synthesised on the device. The app does not use the microphone, camera, location or contacts.
What we don’t do
- No account, login or sign-up.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics or crash-reporting SDKs in the app.
- No selling, renting or sharing of personal data with anyone.
- No cookies or trackers on this website.
If this ever changes (for example an optional cloud sync), the feature will be opt-in, this policy will be updated first, and the app will tell you before anything leaves your phone.
The website
Launch list. If you enter your email in “Notify me”, we receive that email address, the time you sent it and which form you used. We use it for one thing: to tell you when DC:Plane is available on Google Play or the App Store. We don’t add you to anything else. Form entries are stored by our host, Netlify, Inc., which processes them on our behalf.
Hosting. The site is hosted on Netlify. Like any web host, Netlify processes technical data needed to deliver pages (such as your IP address and browser type) in its server logs, under Netlify’s privacy policy. We don’t add analytics on top.
On your device. The website remembers your sound, theme and colour choices in your browser’s local storage so they stick between visits. That stays in your browser and is never sent to us.
Your choices and rights
- App data: change or delete anything inside the app; Settings → Danger zone resets everything; uninstalling removes it all from the phone.
- Launch list: email us and we’ll remove your address, usually within a few days. We delete the whole list once launch emails have gone out.
- Depending on where you live (for example under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the GDPR in the EU/UK or US state laws) you can ask us what we hold about you, to correct it or to delete it. For the app, the answer is nothing: we hold no app data. For the website, it’s at most your email.
Children
DC:Plane isn’t directed at children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect their personal data. The app collects none from anyone; if a child has joined the launch list, email us and we’ll delete it.
Security
App data sits in the app’s sandboxed storage, protected by your phone’s own lock and encryption. The website is served only over HTTPS. Keep your phone locked and you keep your data safe.
Changes to this policy
If we change how DC:Plane handles data we’ll update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect. Significant changes will also be shown in the app.
